On November 5, 2021, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies in cooperation with the Eurasian Regional Center of the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation hosted an International Conference on “Bridges of spirituality from Nizami to Navoi”.
The conference was attended by the leadership of the Eurasian Regional Center of the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, H.E. the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Guseyn Guliyev, the staff of the diplomatic mission, scientists of the Institute of Manuscripts at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan led by the director, academician Teymur Karimli, the teaching staff and TSUOS students.


The conference was held on the occasion of the celebration of the 880th Anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi and the 580th Anniversary of Alisher Navoi and is dedicated to the humanistic ideas of the great medieval poets of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, altogether their connections and relevance to modernity.
A book “Contributions of the Eurasian Nations to Islamic Culture”, which has been published in Baku by the Eurasian Regional Center of the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was presented at the conference. One chapter of the book is devoted to Uzbekistan under the title “Uzbekistan – the Islamic Cultural Pearl of Mawarannahr” by TSUOS Professor Shukhrat Yovkochev.
