At the Tashkent all-arms command military college, the final stage of the “Mardlar qoriqlaydi Vatanni (Brave people defend their Motherland)” contest of military-patriotic songs has taken place.

Military-patriotic songs play an important role in bringing up the younger generation and personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the spirit of love for the Motherland, devotion to ideas of national sovereignty, courage and selflessness as well as striving to protect the Motherland like the apple of their eye.

The contest arranged by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the union of composers and the union of writers of Uzbekistan, the Uzbeknavo association of performing arts and the Central Council of the Kamolot public youth movement was timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Motherland Defenders Day.

The contest was conducted in such areas as marching songs, love songs and popular songs praising the independence and colossal achievements of the country as well as peaceful and prosperous living. With their songs, military servicemen expressed devotion and love for the nation and the country and called on all their compatriots to live with these sacred feelings.

The jury of the contest evaluated the performances by looking at the themes of the songs, the topicality of their wording, the artistic level of their music, the mastery of their performance and the observance of scenic culture rules. The winners of the contest will be given awards at the “Mardlar qoriqlaydi Vatanni” song festival which will take place in January 2017.
