The premiere of the musical “A meeting that could have happened. Botir Zokirov and Frank Sinatra” took place at the Turkiston Palace, organized by the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan.
A creative team led by the Director of the Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre and honored artist of Uzbekistan, Andrey Slonim, carried out extensive preparatory work, meticulously refining every detail of the project. The production featured highly skilled artists, including People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Mansur Tashmatov, who embodied the vocal image of the legendary American singer Frank Sinatra, talented young singer Rasul Abdullayev, who transformed into Botir Zokirov, and honored artist of the country Oleg Galakhov, who played the role of the Stranger – a music manager well-versed in the creative and personal journeys of the two maestros.

One of Uzbekistan’s finest musical ensembles, the jazz orchestra conducted by Igor Azarenko, also delivered an inspired and vibrant performance.

The active, creative search by an experienced director and talented performers from different generations led to the emergence of intriguing and unconventional artistic solutions in portraying the main characters – two great singers from Asia and America – and the ultimate aspirations of their art. This production united the world’s musical heritage on one stage, bringing together two golden voices of the 20th century and the stellar destinies of Botir Zokirov and Frank Sinatra.
The premiere became a significant event in the cultural life of the capital.
