The Samarkand Institute of Agricultural Innovation and Research hosted an international training workshop on the development of bioeconomics in Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by scientists and experts from Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, and Uzbekistan working in bioeconomics.

The opportunities for the development of bioeconomics in Uzbekistan, its role and advantages, differences from the sectoral approach, tasks and priorities of various entities in a single bioeconomical ecosystem were discussed at the event organized by the BioEsUz consortium under the leadership of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies funded by the ERASMUS+ program of the European Union. European scientists shared their experience in this direction.

It was noted that Uzbekistan has excellent potential for the transition from network to bioeconomics. It was also emphasized that promising projects in bioeconomics will be implemented soon, and highly qualified specialists will be in demand.
