An International Open Billiards Championship was held in Samarkand.

The tournament, organized by the IRBIS-S billiards club and the Samarkand Regional Branch of the Billiards Sports Federation, brought together more than 64 athletes from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The open championship, with a prize fund of 65 million UZS, lasted three days. The eight strongest athletes were determined. A representative of Uzbekistan, Bakhrom Ruziyev, who defeated a Kyrgyz athlete in the final, won the gold medal and received 20 million 500 thousand UZS. The silver medalist received 10 million 200 thousand UZS. Uzbekistan’s Nodir Mirzayev and Ahror Khatanov won bronze medals and received 2 million 400 thousand UZS each. The prize for 5th-8th places was the same amount.
