Deputy Director General of the Center for State Environmental Expertise under the Ministry of Ecology, Timurlan Aitmuratov, took part in the Fourteenth meeting of the Open-ended Working Group of the Basel Convention “Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal”, in Geneva, Switzerland.

This meeting is organized to review the technical guidelines on persistent organic pollutants, e-waste, lead-acid battery waste, used and waste pneumatic tires, and discuss the Basel Convention Partnerships Programme.

At the event, participants exchanged experiences and studied best practices in the hazardous waste management. It was noted that developing joint promising investment projects in hazardous waste management is necessary.
