Berlin hosted political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federal Republic of Germany.
Uzbekistan delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gayrat Fozilov. The German side was represented by a delegation led by the Plenipotentiary of the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, Matthias Lüttenberg.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for further development of bilateral relations, interaction within the framework of international structures.
The main attention was paid to the opportunities for strengthening political dialogue, enhancing inter-parliamentary ties, and intensifying trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts.
Views were exchanged on the current issues of the world and regional politics.
Mr. Matthias Lüttenberg announced the support of the German side for the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and Berlin’s readiness to comprehensively strengthen cooperation with the Uzbek side.
The parties agreed upon a set of measures for joint implementation, which includes measures to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Germany (March 6), intensify the activities of interaction mechanisms, and organize mutual visits at various levels.
