BelTA: Samarkand is interested in the experience of Grodno doctors

A roadmap for cooperation and exchange of experience in medical education was drawn up during the visit of the Head of the Main Department of Health of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, Lyudmila Keda, chief doctors of leading regional clinics, and heads of medical education institutions to Uzbekistan. The Main Department of Health of the Republic of Belarus informed a BelTA correspondent about this.

“A Cooperation Agreement between the Main Department of Health of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee and the Health Department of Samarkand region was concluded at the Belarus - Uzbekistan Medical Forum, which was held in Minsk in November 2023”, Lyudmila Keda said. “The agreements were developed at the Second Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan in Tashkent. The meeting of the two countries’ presidents gave a great impetus to cooperation. Specific interaction steps were discussed at a meeting between the Governor of Grodno region, Vladimir Karanik, and the head of Samarkand region, Erkinjon Turdimov”.

Uzbekistan doctors expressed great interest in studying the experience of the Belarusian healthcare system. During their visit to Samarkand, they were informed about the capabilities and achievements of Grodno medicine and a roadmap for the implementation of the agreement signed in Minsk was drawn up. The chief doctors of the university clinic, cardiology, perinatal centers, children’s clinical hospital, and city emergency hospital shared their experiences in several areas of modern medicine with local specialists. Grodno State Medical University and Slonim State Medical College presented their capabilities.

The main clinics of the two regions, the Grodno University Clinic and Samarkand Regional Multidisciplinary Medical Center, agreed on cooperation in several areas.
