Portugal’s Lisbon hosted the World Championships Veterans 2021.

Uzbekistan National Team took part in the Championships for the first time. In the history of Uzbek judo, no one has ever stepped onto the tatami at the World Championships among veterans. The first participation brought our team a silver medal.

On the last day of the competition, Uzbekistan’s Bekzod Turaboyev (92 kg) reached the final without defeat and became the Vice World Champion.
