UzA Correspondent Bekhruz Khudoyberdiyev, who is on a business trip to the People’s Republic of China, prepared a special photo report from one of the most famous cities in the world – Beijing, where the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation will be held.

As part of this conference, many political and cultural events will take place in the metropolis, in particular training workshops with the participation of nearly 100 journalists worldwide.

Beijing is a global city, one of the world’s leading centers in culture, diplomacy, politics, finance, business and economics, education, research, language, tourism, media, sports, science and technology, and transport.

As a metropolis, Beijing is the second largest Chinese city in urban population after Shanghai. It is home to the headquarters of most of China’s largest state-owned companies and the offices of one of the world’s most famous companies, Fortune Global, as well as four financial institutions that are the world’s largest by total assets.

The city is also a central hub for the national highway, expressway, rail, and high-speed rail networks. Beijing Capital International Airport is the second busiest airport in the world since 2010. As of 2016, the city’s metro is the most active and second longest globally. In addition, Beijing’s second international airport, Beijing Daxing, is the world’s largest single-structure airport.

China is a country with a rich history and unique culture.

Despite the frequent political changes in the country at the beginning of the twentieth century, Beijing remained China’s most prosperous cultural center. In 1949, the city was declared the capital of the People’s Republic. Few cities have achieved rapid population growth, industrial development, and other activities. Combining historical monuments of ancient culture and modern urban architecture, from fast food franchises to luxury hotels for foreign tourists and corporate travelers, Beijing has become the exhibition ground of contemporary China and one of the greatest cities in the world.

Today, Beijing is opening up to the world as the implementer of significant initiatives. This is where the next Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation will take place. A major forum, which will take place on October 17-18 with the participation of heads of state, will mark a new stage of cooperation.
