The presidential decree dated 2 June this year “On preparations for the 25th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and celebrations of this holiday” is a programme document for seeing in this holiday in a worthy manner and celebrating it with proper ceremonies.

It was noted at the event that thanks to large-scale work carried out in the country’s socio-political life in the years of independence, the country was becoming prosperous and the living standards were rising.

Large-scale reforms have been implemented in the years of independence in order to ensure the country’s development and its people’s wellbeing. Uzbekistan’s national strategy known as the Uzbek model of development in the rest of the world completely conforms to the national interests, and this has been proven by life itself.

From the very first years of independence, the protection of motherhood and childhood in the country was regarded as an important area of the state’s social policy.

As the country’s President said, a healthy child is an offspring of a healthy and strong family, and only healthy mothers give birth to healthy children.

It is especially important to strengthen the legal protection of mothers and children, to popularize exemplary families’ life experiences, to create even more favourable conditions for bringing up a generation that is healthy and well in every respect and to support and encourage them.

During the event, young artistes performed melodies and songs praising the motherland and peace. Participants were given memorable gifts.
