Baysun district is famous for its snow-white mountain peaks, amazing nature, favorable climate, medicinal herbs, fragrant and tasty fruits, as well as historical monuments and national values. The Apple Festival was organized here through the efforts of the Main Regional Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Surkhandarya region, together with the Hokimiyat of the district.
About a hundred farmers, entrepreneurs and dehkan farms of the district create orchards and grow apples on 568 hectares of land. Gardeners harvest about three thousand tons of apples a year from 262 hectares of fertile land.
According to experts, apples grown in Baysun district differ from the fruits of other regions in their juiciness and special taste.
At the solemn opening ceremony of the festival, the Hokim of the district Askarali Jurayev provided detailed information about the rich tourism potential of the region and the ongoing work on the widespread establishment of agro-tourism, the development of apple cultivation.
Guests from different districts of the region, Baysun farmers exchanged views and received interesting information about the remarkable properties of apples and the peculiarities of caring for them.
“There is information in the sources that the true homeland of apples is Central Asia”, the head of the Barador Farm, Qodir Jurayev, says. – There are many varieties of apples in the world. More than a hundred varieties are grown in our country. Our apple orchards occupy one and a half hectares. The guests liked the local variety of Baysun apples for their excellent taste.
As part of the festival, an exhibition of apples, grapes, pomegranates, melons and handicrafts grown in the district was organized. The winners in various nominations were identified. They were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts from the organizers.
