Within the framework of the II International Pharmaceutical Forum of Uzbekistan, officials of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency and representatives of Germany’s BAYER Company held a meeting.

Priority areas of development of the pharmaceutical market in Uzbekistan and prospects for scientific-technological cooperation with BAYER were discussed at the meeting.

Representatives of the company noted that they are interested in long-term business development in the Uzbekistan market of medicines sold without a prescription. They expressed their readiness to hold a meeting with leading specialists of Uzbekistan to discuss measures to implement the main directions of maternity and childhood support programs in Uzbekistan, including measures to conduct a socio-economic study of the impact of complex vitamin support.

Within the framework of the forum, representatives of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency and biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca also held a business meeting.

Foreign partners expressed interest in supporting and developing the pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan and readiness to cooperate with the Agency. In particular, the possibility of assisting in the development and implementation of educational programs for pharmaceutical industry specialists, attracting foreign experts and teachers in drug production was noted.

Investment issues, including contractual relations with local producers, were discussed in detail at the meeting.
