Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UK has organized virtual talks between representatives of Bangor University and Nukus branch of Tashkent State Agrarian University (Nukus Agrarian Institute).

The parties plan to establish partnership in training personnel in agriculture and forestry, as well as develop scientific research cooperation.

Representatives of the Embassy provided information on large-scale reforms in the country, including in education, the progressive dynamics of development of Uzbekistan – British cooperation and wide opportunities for establishing cooperation in the scientific and academic sphere.

During the talks, a number of promising areas of bilateral cooperation were outlined, including in natural sciences, forestry development in dry lands, environmental protection, soil erosion monitoring and saline land reclamation with introduction of innovative approaches.

The parties agreed to consolidate the beginning of practical cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation.
