Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs as an observer.

The parties noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics in the development of relations between Uzbekistan and the OTS in various areas. The implementation of the strategic decisions adopted following the Samarkand Summit of the organization in November 2022 was discussed.

Issues of enhancing trade and economic ties, using the transport and transit potential of the OTS region, implementing joint projects in ICT, digital and green economy, and interaction in tourism, education and culture were considered.

Mr. Omuraliev announced the readiness of the secretariat of the organization to take an active part in the implementation of the goals and objectives of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the OTS.

The parties also considered current issues of the regional agenda.
