During his visit to Italy, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Minister of University and Research of Italy, Anna Maria Bernini.

The parties discussed issues of cooperation in education, joint research projects, strengthening the scientific and academic base to ensure sustainable economic development, and organizing a forum of rectors. The minister invited Anna Bernini to visit Uzbekistan soon.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov also met with the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana. The parties exchanged views on bilateral and global agenda topics. Relations between Uzbekistan and Italy demonstrate dynamic growth in all areas. During the meeting, it was emphasized that historical ties, regular exchanges at various levels, and active activities of friendship groups in both parliaments bring new tangible results.

In addition, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan met with the President of the International Fund of Agricultural Development (IFAD), Alvaro Lario. The key topics of the conversation were maintaining cooperation, attracting the best world knowledge and experience to Uzbekistan, food security, and industrial development of agriculture in Uzbekistan, and implementing the IFAD country strategy for 2023-2027.
