Bakhshi art widely represented in Japan
The Embassy of Uzbekistan, together with the Japanese Office ALP, held the final presentation of joint Uzbekistan – Japan modern dance project “Echoes of Calling – Rainbow After”.
A well-known performer from Uzbekistan Akhror Khushvaktov took part in it.
Project manager Akiko Kitamura noted that the bakhshi art, a beautiful and unique example of folk art, is distinguished by the sonorous sound of dombra, the magical melody emanating from its strings, and the unique voice of bakhshi.
Bakhshi Akhror Khushvaktov noted that he was participating in such a foreign project for the first time. Modern interpretations of Uzbek epics were developed in collaboration with Japanese artists, which gave him even more impetus in his creative work.
After the performance, Sakai Hironari, a professor at Wako University in Tokyo, organized a lecture on the bakhshi art and the history of its origin.
