The novel by the People’s Writer of Uzbekistan Pirimqul Qodirov “Babur: Starry Nights” has been published in English.

The presentation of the book took place in the city of Tashkent.

The historical novel tells about the fate of the famous poet, commander and statesman Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur (1483-1530), full of dramatic events.

A descendant of the dynasty of the great Sahibkiran Amir Temur, Babur Mirzo, founded the Baburid Empire, which lasted until the middle of the 19th century – the British colonization.

Babur described his experiences, victories and defeats, doubts and sufferings in his memoirs, later called “Baburnama”. Pirimqul Qodirov relied on “Baburnama” when creating his novel. The reader will also get acquainted with the historical events that took place in Central Asia and India in the 15th-16th centuries.

The novel was translated into English by the British literary critic Carol Ermakova. The translation was made under the editorship of Julie Wickenden. The well-known Uzbek artist Bobur Ismailov worked on the drawings for the publication. The book was published by the French publishing house Nouveau Monde Editions.

“Babur: Starry Nights” is the 16th publishing project implemented by the Islam Karimov Foundation.
