08:21 / 2023-09-07

At a briefing with the participation of representatives of domestic and foreign media, organized before the International Conference on Food Security, the head of the organization responsible for this event, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Voitov, emphasized the importance of this conference.

The participation of about 2500 delegates from 31 countries in the prestigious conference held in Samarkand has been confirmed. Of course, most of the guests have already arrived in our ancient city. Here, the question is natural: Why is there such a high interest in the conference organized in our country?

This question can be answered by pointing to several factors. First, the chosen theme – food security – is of great relevance. Today, it can be said with confidence, or rather with regret, that this problem is of serious concern to the people of all continents and countries of the earth. Indeed, several factors, such as the alarming political situation on our planet, negative climate changes, water resource use, soil salinization, drought, and food security, are manifested as a global problem for the entire world community.

Second, the President of Uzbekistan has repeatedly raised these issues directly related to the conditions of life on the planet and the well-being of people from high tribunes at prestigious venues at the UN level. The President of Uzbekistan raises and puts forward many proposals and initiatives to solve these problems. Naturally, such efforts do not go unnoticed by the world community.

Moreover, in recent years, Uzbekistan has accumulated much experience holding international conferences. That is why the most prestigious international organizations trust Uzbekistan to organize large-scale events. In a word, there are many such factors.

This means the conference aims to exchange ideas, experience, proposals, and initiatives, analyze and find valuable solutions to this global problem.
