A military delegation led by the Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, arrived in Uzbekistan to discuss issues of bilateral military cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the main day of the official visit, the guests, accompanied by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Bakhodir Kurbanov, visited the architectural complex of Bahauddin Naqshband.

The delegation visited the Bukhara training ground. An official meeting of the military delegation led by Colonel General Zakir Hasanov took place. A guard of honor lined up, and an army band played the two countries’ national anthems.

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, speaking about the high results achieved through joint efforts, noted that the relationship between the two countries has entered a new stage of strategic partnership.

It was emphasized that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in defense further strengthens the armies of both countries. The prospects for developing cooperation in military, military-technical, military-educational, and other areas, regional security issues, and other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.

The two countries’ defense ministers exchanged views on achievements in the military sphere and future tasks. Promising proposals were made to continue cooperation.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Military Cooperation for 2024 was signed.
