Azerbaijan delegation visits Uzbekistan.

Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan State News Agency – AZERTAC Vugar Aliyev and the Chief Executive Officer of Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan Ahmad Ismayilov met with the Director General of Uzbekistan National News Agency – UzA Abdusaid Kuchimov.

Discussing the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, the parties considered current aspects of bilateral and multifaceted cooperation. The mutual interest of the parties in further developing collaboration between UzA and AZERTAC in accordance with modern trends was noted. Mr. Kuchimov, referring to the current unsatisfactory state of cooperation, added that both sides express a strong desire to expand the scope of the partnership, which will help bring relations to a new level.

“Relations between Uzbekistan National News Agency and AZERTAC have a long history”, says Vugar Aliyev. – We often exchanged visits, but now these meetings need to be given a regular and consistent status. We have to revise our relations and bring them to a new level. The main goal will be the exchange of timely and objective information. The task of informing the fraternal peoples of the most current events since ancient times has been entrusted to the leading news agencies of our countries – UzA and AZERTAC. It must be admitted that along with reliable information, misinformation is actively spreading. Our friendly relations allow us to effectively deal with these negative situations by uniting and establishing systemic cooperation. Uzbekistan National News Agency has a unique experience in this area. As part of our deepening partnership, we intend to explore this methodology to actively combat disinformation. The development of measures aimed at improving the experience, qualifications and skills of our employees is one of the important aspects of our further cooperation.

Following the meeting, UzA and AZERTAC leaders agreed to sign an agreement previously concluded between the agencies.
