Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan hosted a festive event on the occasion of Independence Day.

The participants of the event got acquainted with the exhibition of books and photographs entitled “Happy 31st Anniversary of Independence, dear Uzbekistan”.

The event was attended by the leadership of Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Friendship Society, local Azerbaijanis, cultural figures of Uzbekistan, intelligentsia, and university teachers.

Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center Samir Abbasov greeted the participants and congratulated them on the great holiday. He noted the success of Uzbekistan, the radical reforms carried out in the political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres in the country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Executive Director of Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Friendship Society, Doctor of Historical Sciences Erkin Nuriddinov, Professor of the National University of Uzbekistan Nigina Shermuhammedova informed about the activities to enhance friendly ties between the two countries, deepen cooperation in science.

Azerbaijani and Uzbek dances and songs were performed.
