The opening ceremony of Azerbaijan Cinema Days took place at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan, within the framework of the Tashkent Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road”.

The event was held with the joint initiative and support of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, Uzbekkino National Agency and the Azerbaijan Cultural Center.

Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan Samir Abbasov noted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in all areas is constantly developing. The visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan, the meetings, the signed agreements open up new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

He noted that Azerbaijan was widely represented at the International Film Festival held in Uzbekistan both last year and this year with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijani films were received with great interest and love in Uzbekistan.

Films directed by Ayaz Salayev “Torpaq” and Ilgar Najaf “Sugra and her sons” were demonstrated. Both directors informed about their films.

These films will be shown in Bukhara on September 17.
