There have been broad historical ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan from time immemorial. Our linguistic, cultural, and historical unity, belonging to shared roots, strengthens and develops our cooperation. It should be noted that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have entered a new historical era of relations.
The visit of the newly elected President of fraternal Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who has won the great trust of Uzbekistan people, to our country has a particular political significance.
As previously reported, Mr. President and his spouse visited Azerbaijan. Numerous agreements have been concluded in logistics, culture, tourism, and other areas.
However, I would like to emphasize that the most significant contribution of the people of Uzbekistan to the development of friendly relations between our countries after the Great Victory became the construction of a comprehensive school on the lands of the Fuzuli district liberated from the Armenian occupation, which bears the name of the great Uzbek scientist Mirzo Ulugbek. This grandiose event is a significant historical moment in the relations of our countries. Love and gratitude to Uzbekistan people for such a valuable gift will live in every student and local resident's soul attending this school.
Again, relations between our countries are actively developing in all spheres. Today, Uzbekistan has a powerful potential and great authority in Central Asia and the international arena.
It should also be noted that our cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States and other international platforms is yielding effective results.
I would like to wish our fraternal countries and people success and prosperity.
I emphasize once again that the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan is historic. Our cooperation, friendly and fraternal ties will develop more and more for the benefit of our peoples and countries.
