Uzbekistan’s athletes arrived in the country, who took part in the 2nd CIS Games held in 11 cities of Belarus.
The winners and participants of the competitions were solemnly welcomed at the International Airport named after Islam Karimov by representatives of state and public organizations, parents and friends, and media workers.
Young athletes, who exalted the sports glory of the country, were welcomed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan O. Ramatov, and Minister of Youth Policy and Sports A. Ikromov.
At the CIS Games, Uzbekistan’s young athletes in the team standings after Russia and the Republic of Belarus took 3rd place, and the number of medals increased compared to those won at the 1st CIS Games held two years ago in Kazan. This indicates that the development of youth sports in Uzbekistan has entered a new stage.
In addition to the CIS countries, representatives of 13 more states took part in these games. This year’s games featured 246 medals in 22 sports.
Uzbekistan’s sports delegation won 28 gold, 25 silver, and 53 bronze medals – a total of 106 medals. Uzbekistan national team at the games in Kazan in 2021 was awarded 23 gold, 32 silver, and 35 bronze medals – a total of 90 medals.
