At the Fifth World Nomad Games, the number of Uzbekistan team’s medals reaches 12

On the first day of the Fifth World Nomad Games in Astana, Uzbekistan’s athletes won 12 medals.

In the final competition in the Uzbek national wrestling kurash in the weight category of up to 70 kilograms, Mukhlisa Turdiyeva won the gold medal, defeating Azhar Salykova from Kazakhstan.

Also, Arslonbek Tadjiyev, who defended the country’s honor in the competition among men in the weight category up to 81 kilograms, celebrated his victory in the final, defeating Dayanch Omirov from Turkmenistan in a fair fight.

Uzbekistan’s Pokiza Kamoliddinova won a silver medal among women in the weight category of 87 kilograms.

In the mass wrestling competition, Uzbekistan’s Dmitry Khijinsky took 3rd place.

Thus, following the results of the first day of the Fifth World Nomad Games, in which about 2800 athletes from 89 countries are participating, Uzbekistan’s athletes are in 4th place with 2 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals. Representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia are leading in the number of medals in the overall team standings.

To date, 20 participating countries have received awards of one level or another, and representatives of 69 countries have not yet won a single medal.

Today, on the second day of the games, competitions will be held in 7 sports programs.

As previously reported, 97 sets of medals will be played out within the framework of the Fifth World Nomad Games, which will run until September 13.
