Astrakhan to host Caspian Forum

On May 29-31, Russia’s Astrakhan will host the International Scientific Forum “Caspian 2023: Ways of Sustainable Development” as part of the Caspian Scientific and Educational Congress. The Forum is organized by the Government of the Astrakhan Region, Astrakhan State University, ANO “Russia – Country of Opportunities”.

The main events will be held at ASU named after V.N. Tatishchev. The forum is held for the 3rd time. It will become an essential international discussion platform for strengthening Russia’s position in the Caspian Sea and developing cooperation between the Caspian countries in science, technology, education, and culture.

According to ASU Information Policy and Public Relations Department, as part of the three-day event, strategic sessions, discussion panels, and clubs, an ethnographic Olympiad, a meeting of the expert council of the “Competence Centers” project, a meeting of the Consortium of higher education institutions of the region in the transport and logistics sector will be held. The first day of the forum will be dedicated to youth policy issues.

ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov noted that building up scientific, educational, economic, and humanitarian cooperation between the countries of the Caspian Sea will increase its sustainability on a global and regional scale.

“The result of the joint work will be a constructive dialogue between representatives of various spheres of the academic, educational, and business communities, as well as the development of common approaches to solving urgent problems of sustainable development of the Caspian region, taking into account new social, economic, technological challenges and the current situation in international cooperation”, Konstantin Markelov says.
