A press conference, dedicated to aims and tasks of the newly created Association of pensioners of Uzbekistan was held at the National press center.

At the event, chairman of association K.Nabiev informed that in November last year founding session of the Association of pensioners took place in Tashkent, in which governing bodies of the association were elected. On 26 February this year the new Association was registered at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was noted that this was another re-embodiment of the works on creating necessary conditions for senior people under the guidance of President Islam Karimov.

Life experience of the senior generation serves as a school for the youth. The need for their counsel and advice is of significant important in the process of reforms in our country, creative works and youth education.

Association of Pensioners will protect social-economic, spiritual rights and interests of pensioners, securing peace and tranquility in every family, supporting social protection of the senior people, creating conditions for their medical care and relaxation, ensuring their worthy participation in youth education in the spirit of love for the Motherland, respect for national values.

It is also planned to create small and private businesses, supporting pensioners, under the Association.
