Tashkent hosted a meeting on a joint assessment of the implementation of International Health Regulations in Uzbekistan.
It was attended by the UN Representative in Uzbekistan, the Head of the WHO Representative Office in Uzbekistan, representatives and experts of international organizations, deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, officials of the Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health, ministries and agencies.
Minister of Health Bekzod Musayev, Head of the Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Bakhodir Yusupaliyev noted that the country is working to protect the health of the population, and the country’s healthcare system is reaching a new level based on the noble idea “In the name of human honor and dignity”. It was emphasized that the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the WHO Representative Office in Uzbekistan provide constant methodological and practical assistance in the implementation of international legislative acts in Uzbekistan.
The events, organized by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to implement international health regulations in the Republic of Uzbekistan” of July 31, 2015, and a two-year agreement between the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the Ministry of Health will run until May 20.
The project provides an opportunity to prepare for possible emergencies that pose a threat to public health, to prevent the spread of diseases through quick and effective response.
