Askanews about the constitutional reform in Uzbekistan
12:20 / 2022-06-26

Italy’s Askanews published an article titled “Uzbekistan, 48,000 citizens’ proposals for constitutional reform”.

The article notes that almost 50 thousand citizens’ proposals received by the Constitutional Commission indicate that constitutional reform is an objective necessity.

The publication recalls that the current Constitution of Uzbekistan was adopted on 8 December 1992. According to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the new Constitution should guarantee “a solid legal framework and a reliable guarantee of long-term strategies for development and prosperity” of the country.
