On the eve of the 150th IPU Assembly, Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, held a meeting with Mohammad Reza Majidi, Secretary General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.
Prospects for developing cooperation between the Parliament of Uzbekistan and the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, as well as issues related to strengthening cooperation in ecology, sustainable development, and international politics, were discussed at the meeting.
Priority areas for further cooperation, including environmental safety, the use of green technologies, poverty reduction, improving water supply, and environmental protection, were also considered.

Mohammad Reza Majidi highlighted Uzbekistan’s success in implementing the political and economic reforms undertaken under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, particularly in the context of the new constitutional amendments and the Development Strategy “Uzbekistan 2030”.
The parties also discussed the issues of expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the member countries of the Assembly, as well as the development of pilgrimage tourism. In this context, the parties expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation in tourism, including the exchange of experience and the strengthening of intercultural ties.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue active work within the existing framework of initiatives and to develop new joint projects.
