Tashkent hosted Asian Cycling Confederation Congress.
It was attended by heads of federations, representatives of sports unions and companies of about twenty countries.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Women's Committee, Chairman of the Cycling Federation of Uzbekistan T. Norbayeva and others noted that great opportunities are being created in Uzbekistan for accelerated development of Olympic sports, including cycling.
Preparation process for the XXXII Summer Olympic and XVI Paralympic Games to be held in 2020 in Tokyo, issues to be considered during the upcoming International Congress in September this year were discussed, countries hosting Asian Championships in 2020-2021 were identified, as well as, results of activities, achievements and shortcomings in activities of the Asian Cycling Confederation in 2018 were summed up at the congress.
It was determined that Asian Road Cycling Championships will be held in 2020 in Malaysia. And in 2021, UAE will host this championship.
Reports of the President of the International Cycling Union David Lappartient and the President of Asian Cycling Confederation Sheikh Osama Ahmed Al Shafar were heard.
