The 10th Asian Swimming Championships have kicked off on the rowing channel in Samarkand.

The opening of the championships was attended by the heads of the Asia Swimming Federation and Uzbekistan Swimming Federation, responsible persons of Samarkand Regional Hokimiyat.

Secretary General of Asia Swimming Federation Taha Al Kishry noted that holding this prestigious tournament in Samarkand is of particular importance. He also stressed that recently the athletes of Uzbekistan have been successfully participating in international tournaments.

He thanked the organizers for preparing for the championship at a high level and wished athletes good luck. After that, 45 athletes from 14 countries started competing.
