Kazakhstan hosts Asian Wrestling Championships.

According to the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Greco-Roman wrestling took place on April 13. Uzbekistan team won one silver and one bronze medal. In the weight category up to 55 kilograms, the champion of the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing Ilkhomjon Bakhromov reached the final. He lost to the athlete from Japan Yu Shiotani and won a silver medal.

Licensee of the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 in the weight category of up to 87 kilograms Rustam Assakalov reached the semifinals. Having lost to his rival from Iran, he fought for the bronze medal with Nursultan Tursinov from Kazakhstan and won.

Sukhrob Fattoyev (130 kilograms), lost to the wrestler from Kyrgyzstan Murat Ramonov in the fight for the bronze medal. Elmurat Tasmuradov (63 kilograms) and Bilan Nalgiyev (77 kilograms) could not go beyond the quarterfinals.
