From April 27 to May 7, Astana hosted the ASBC Youth and U22 Asian Boxing Championships.

Boxers from 15 countries of our continent took part in the competition.

Our youth team won 7 gold, 3 silver, and 12 bronze medals and took second place in the team competition. The Kazakhstan team took first place with 11 gold, 4 silver, and 9 bronze medals. The Indian team completed the top three, winning 5 gold, 9 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Uzbekistan boxers under 22 entered the top three, winning 4 gold, 6 silver, and 10 bronze medals. The Kazakhstan team took first place in the overall team competition, and the Indian team took second place.

In this age category, the prize in the category “Best Boxer” of the Asian Championship went to Uzbekistan’s Jakhongir Zokirov.
