The Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages hosted an event devoted to the anniversaries of two classics of Oriental literature – the 585th anniversary of Alisher Navoi’s birth and the 543rd anniversary of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur’s birth.
The cultural-literary evening was organized by the Institute in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan. The event’s program featured literary fragments from the works of Magtymguly Fragi, Alisher Navoi, and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. Students performed texts in various languages, and accompanying videos were shown.
The participants also presented folk songs and national dances of both countries. Students of Altyn Meras Institute’s cultural center have prepared musical performances.
The event also included an exhibition of books devoted to the literary heritage of Eastern thinkers, as well as an exposition reflecting the cultural traditions of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The organizers noted that such cultural events contribute to the development of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and the preservation of a common literary heritage.
