Aral Sea Region to host an International Forum

On 29-30 September this year, Muynak district and the city of Nukus will host an International Conference dedicated to the 900th anniversary of Suleiman Bakirgani, an International Festival of Artists and Creative People “Restoration of the Aral and Muynak”, a Gastronomic Festival “99 Aral Fish Dishes”.

“According to the instructions of the Head of the state given during a visit on 23-24 February this year to the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the minutes of the meeting of February 25, the task was set to organize an International Conference dedicated to the 900th anniversary of Suleiman Bakirgani (Hakim-Ata), one of the prominent poets of Sufism, as well as the International Festival of Artists and Creative People “Restoration of the Aral and Muynak” to increase the flow of tourists to Muynak district and develop tourism, the Gastronomic Festival “99 Aral Fish Dishes”, says Ikrombek Ruzimbayev, Chief Specialist of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. – A relevant protocol of the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan was approved to ensure the implementation of these instructions.

According to the approved plan of the Organizing Committee, on September 29, it is planned to organize competitions in the preparation of fish dishes, master classes, exhibitions of works by artists and creative people, roundtable discussions, familiarization with archaeological research conducted around the crypt of Suleiman Bakirgani, excursions to places of pilgrimage and sightseeing. And on September 30, it is planned to open the conference in the city of Nukus and continue it in sections.

It is expected that specialists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia and Türkiye will take part in the International Conference in connection with the 900th anniversary of Suleiman Bakirgani along with scientists, professors and teachers from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent.
