A JV Qarshi Conch Cement has been put into operation with the participation of Chinese partners, in Kitab district of Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region.
Hokim of the region M. Azimov, representatives of Chinese and local partner organizations took part in its opening ceremony. It is the first cement plant in Kashkadarya region.

The plant was launched due to foreign direct investment from Chinese partners for $150 million. The enterprise, located in the town of Makrid in Kitab district and covering an area of 62 hectares, intends to produce cement grades M-400, M-500 and M-600 with a volume of up to 1.2 million tons per year.

The activity of the enterprise will have a significant impact on the export potential of the region. Cement will be exported to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and China for an average of $12 million per year. It is important to note that the launch of the plant made it possible to create many new jobs and employ 400 people.
