Another award of a scientist from Uzbekistan

Moscow hosted the 19th International Muslim Forum and the Faizkhan Readings.

The forum on “The role of religious leaders in protecting spiritual and moral values and strengthening peace and security”, organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was attended by representatives from Egypt, Qatar, Italy, Iraq, Iran, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Mauritania, Afghanistan, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Türkiye, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan. More than 90 muftis, Islamic theologians, politicians and religious figures, orientalists, political scientists, ambassadors, and diplomats from 38 countries were among the participants.

Komiljon Rakhimov, a leading researcher at the Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, orientalist, and Islamic scholar, was the guest of honor. He met with the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation and Russia Muftis Council, a member of the Council for Relations with Religious Organizations of the Russian Federation, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. After the meeting, K. Rakhimov was awarded a medal for the first time in connection with the 200th anniversary of Husain Faizkhanov. This is not the first award presented to Komiljon Rakhimov. Earlier, the Uzbek scientist was awarded the “Faith and Honor” Order for his worthy contribution to the consistent establishment of religious and moral values throughout the post-Soviet space, strengthening peace, friendship, and mutual understanding between the peoples of Russia and Uzbekistan and other merits, and in accordance with the Decree of the Chairman of Coordination Council of the North Caucasian Muslims Ismail Berdiyev – the Order “For the affirmation of spiritual values”.

The Faizkhan Readings are an annual international scientific conference dedicated to Islamic and Oriental studies. Issues related to Islamic studies, Oriental studies, textual studies, history, archaeology, and archaeography were discussed at the event. The next readings were dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the scholar of Oriental textual studies, Tatar Jadid enlightener Husain Faizkhanov (1823-1866).
