Director for the Directorate of Education and Skills, and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Andreas Schleicher, is on a working visit to Uzbekistan.

Andreas Schleicher got acquainted with the activities of the National Center for International Research on Education Quality Assessment.

“The center was established in 2018 under the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Quality in Education”, says the Chief of the Inspectorate Ulugbek Tashkenbayev. – Agreements have been reached with the OECD and the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA). Uzbekistan participates in the international programs PISA, TALIS, PIRLS and TIMSS for the first time.

In 2021, PISA research experiments were conducted in 83 schools. 202 educational institutions are preparing for the main experiment scheduled for April-May.

PISA program initiator made recommendations to improve the quality of education and prepare for international studies.
