In 2019, the regional territorial commission identified 4 cases of human trafficking. Penalties have been taken on the basis of relevant articles of the country’s Criminal Code in respect of 5 persons who committed this offense. 16 victims of trafficking were sent to the republican rehabilitation center, where they received social, legal and psychological assistance.
The commission, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Supreme Court, the Women’s Committee, the Central Council of Uzbekistan Youth Union and a number of other organizations, gave instructions to responsible persons that must be implemented in each system.
The Republican working group discussed in detail the work carried out to prevent human trafficking and forced labor in Khojabad and Bulakbashi districts, as well as in the city of Andijan, made suggestions and recommendations to improve the effectiveness of measures in this direction.
The Republican working group will continue to study related work in other districts of the region.
