Anas Fayyad Qarman: “Great transformations have taken place in Uzbekistan”
18:19 / 2024-05-14

The Asian Women’s Forum continues in Samarkand.

Representatives of governments, parliaments, international organizations, the media, and active women from the country attend the event.

Anas Fayyad Qarman, UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Uzbekistan, admitted that the country has undergone significant transformations in recent years in all areas.

“The economic opportunities of women have been expanded, and their participation in the political sphere has been intensified”, says Anas Fayyad Qarman. “President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the government of Uzbekistan are implementing extensive strategic initiatives to improve benefits for access to financial and credit resources. Increasing quotas for women in political activities, parliaments, administration, and other spheres indicates irreversible reforms in Uzbekistan regarding gender equality. The UNDP is ready to cooperate with Uzbekistan and support its efforts in this direction”.
