During a visit to Surkhandarya region on November 16-17 this year, the Head of state gave relevant instructions regarding the creation of an international sports base for kayaking and canoeing at Uchqizil Reservoir in Termez district.

The area around this reservoir, located 20 kilometers from Termez, has a picturesque nature. Based on the President’s idea, this is not only a place for relaxation. The sanatorium of the Termiz Marvaridi LLC, designed for 140 beds, was reconstructed. Visitors are offered physiotherapy courses using mineral waters, sand, and sunlight. The recreation centers “Marvarid” and “OXUS” on the reservoir's shore also have all the modern conditions for an exciting holiday for eco- and sports tourism lovers.

The new international sports base for kayaking and canoeing will become a school for the education and training of professional athletes. A presentation of this project took place in Termez district. It is planned to build a sports hall, a special berth for boats, a tribune with 200 seats, and an administrative building for the base.

The Regional Hokim, Ulugbek Qosimov, recommended the careful development of design and estimate documentation with the involvement of experienced specialists and professional athletes.
