A virtual roundtable was held to discuss the organization of the international academic conference titled “The Role of Mahmudkhoja Behbudi’s Legacy in the History of Turkic Peoples”, which is to take place in Ankara, Türkiye.

The meeting was chaired by Uzbekistan’s representative to TURKSOY, Shavkat Ortiqov.

It is expected that several scholars from Turkic-speaking countries, recognized for their academic expertise and comprehensive research on the historical phenomenon known as the Jadid movement in Turkestan, will deliver presentations at the conference.

It was noted that the event will also feature an exhibition and a theatrical performance dedicated to the legacy of Mahmudkhoja Behbudi.

In addition, a compilation of selected works by Mahmudkhoja Behbudi, translated into Turkish, is expected to be published by TURKSOY and presented at the conference. This initiative offers the Turkic peoples a valuable opportunity to become more closely acquainted with the heritage of this great reformer and educator.

The meeting also addressed related organizational matters and outlined the next steps for preparation.
