An extraordinary plenum of the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Adolat” takes place

Tashkent hosted an extraordinary plenum of the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Adolat”.

It was attended by members of the Political Council and the Executive Committee of the party, deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, senators, party activists, and media representatives.

By the decision of the Central Election Commission of May 10 this year, the start of the campaign for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was announced. In this regard, the meeting was devoted to discussing the participation of the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Adolat” in the early presidential elections, proposals for candidates for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan put forward by the party, the time of convocation and the agenda of the extraordinary XI Congress of the party.

The party has the potential for a worthy participation in the elections. The next task is the effective use of opportunities in the electoral process, the nomination of a worthy presidential candidate from the party. It was decided to submit for discussion at the next Congress of the party the issue of nominating Makhmudova Robakhon Anvarovna from the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Adolat” as a candidate for the post of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The speakers noted that Mrs. Makhmudova, as a jurist, is engaged in ensuring the priority of the law. Her human qualities and patriotism were stressed. Nominating her as a candidate for the post of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the right choice.

Responsible persons of the party noted that documents on the participation of the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Adolat” in the elections and the future candidate for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan would be submitted to the Central Election Commission in the prescribed manner. An agreement was reached on the time, venue, and agenda of the extraordinary XI Congress of the SDP of Uzbekistan “Adolat”.

Appropriate decisions were made on all issues on the agenda of the plenum.

BIOGRAPHY

Makhmudova Robakhon Anvarovna

Makhmudova Robakhon Anvarovna was born on November 9, 1958, in Fergana district of Fergana region in a family of employees. Nationality – Uzbekistan. Mrs. Makhmudova received higher education. In 1983 she graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Tashkent State University.

She began her career in 1976 as a Secretary in Fergana Regional Court. In 1979-1983 she worked as a notary of the State Notary Office No.1 in Fergana, in 1983-1987 – Deputy Head of the Justice Department of Fergana region, in 1987-1990 – Instructor of the Party Committee of Fergana region, in 1990-1999 – First Deputy Head of Justice Department of Fergana region, in 1999-2001 – a judge of Fergana Regional Court, in 2001-2004 – the Chairman of the Court of Fergana, in 2004-2008 – a judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in 2008-2013 – the Chairman of the Court of Fergana region, in 2013 -2017 – a teacher at Fergana Law College, in 2017-2020 – the Head of the People’s Reception Office of Fergana region.

Since January 2020, she has been the Chairman of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis for Science, Education and Healthcare. From July 13, 2020, to the present, she has been the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Chairman of the Judicial Collegium for Administrative Cases.

Mrs. Makhmudova is the initiator and executor in the country of reforming the judicial system, ensuring the independence of the courts. She is also the author of decisions of several plenums of the Supreme Court on easing criminal penalties and ensuring fairness in sentencing. She has carried out much work to protect women’s rights and improve legislation in this direction, developing administrative courts and replenishing the judicial corps with qualified specialists.

More than 140 scientific and popular articles by R. Makhmudova have been published. She is the author of 10 methodological manuals for judges.

In 2020, she was awarded the “Fidokorona Khizmatlari Uchun” (For Selfless Service) Order.

Mrs. Makhmudova is a judge of the first qualification category and an experienced criminal and administrative law specialist.

Makhmudova Robakhon Anvarovna is married and has two children.
