International Congress Center hosted a ceremony devoted to launching new capacities in the energy sector and starting to implement the following projects.

The Head of state called the launching of 18 new capacities worth $3.7 billion and the construction of six new projects a “historic event” in the energy sector.
For the first time in Uzbekistan, a large 300 MW electric power storage system has been built in Andijan and Fergana regions. Sherzod Yuldashev, Hokim of Fergana region’s Uzbekistan district expressed his opinion on one of these projects.
– Today, the Head of state launched the running of major projects in the energy sector, – says Mr. Yuldashev. – During a visit to our region in June this year, the President, together with Chinese partners, launched the organization of an extensive energy storage system in our district. This energy project, built in a short period, has been put into operation. It costs $144 million and will produce 150 megawatts of electricity. For our district specializing in entrepreneurship, this initiative will pave the way for further improvement of the business environment.
After implementing this project, the electricity demand will be met not only in our district, but also in neighboring regions.
The population and entrepreneurs are satisfied with the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan’s energy sector. Admittedly, we didn’t have such a thing as electricity storage before. There were problems not only with the storage of this resource, but also with its timely delivery. But this project is one of the first in Uzbekistan. It stores the electricity planned for the valley as a warehouse. This is an innovative project that will allow us to deliver electricity to consumers during a period of high demand.
The project consists of three stages. In the first stage, it plans to build an electricity storage facility, and in the second, it plans to build a solar power plant with a capacity of 200 megawatts. As a result, up to 600 jobs will be created. The connection of this facility to a large power plant in this district will provide several districts with a stable electricity supply.
The commissioning of the electricity storage facility has become an important event and a step in providing electricity to the population and consumers.
