During the visit to Fergana region last year, the Head of State instructed to develop a project for the construction of an ecotourism complex on 250,000 hectares, including more than 100 recreation, trade, service and entertainment facilities, as well as a modern hotel near the Karkidon Reservoir in Quva district. These days, practical activities are underway in this direction.
Hokim of the region Khayrullo Bozorov became familiar with the projects that are planned to be implemented around the Karkidon Reservoir.

On 1.6 thousand hectares of undeveloped hilly terrain around the reservoir, there are great opportunities for the construction of recreation areas, the creation of green parks, and the development of ecotourism based on new projects. Previously, about 60 recreation centers were built here, but they are obsolete. It is necessary to carry out construction activities based on modern architectural solutions. The projects that are planned to be implemented on the basis of the Karkidon Recreation Center were also presented.

“New facilities for the recreation of the population will be built here”, says the Hokim of Quva district Khalimjon Umarov. “Hotels will be built, and flower gardens will be created, considering foreign experiences. To make a unique landscape, ornamental trees and shrubs suitable for our climatic conditions will be planted in the region, and intensive landscaping will be carried out in place of unproductive gardens. The land will mainly be planted with walnut and almond trees. A drip irrigation system will be launched through the Anor pumping station for their irrigation. The path leading to the territory from both sides will be planted with trees, shrubs, and flowers, and there will be sidewalks. It is planned to create a headquarters here to monitor the work on completing the project on time”.
