Tashkent hosted the ceremony of presenting the Third National Hospitality Award of Uzbekistan.

The best accommodation facilities in various categories and with all amenities were identified at the event. In addition to many nominations, accommodation facilities that meet environmental standards were also awarded.

In particular, the Mercure Bukhara Old Town Hotel was recognized as the best eco-hotel in the region, and the Bukhara Desert Oasis and SPA cluster was recognized as the best ecotourism cluster.

At the event, it was noted that Uzbekistan pays great attention to the development of ecotourism, in particular, the introduction of eco-standards in the activities of tourist accommodation facilities, as well as in maintaining the cleanliness of the surrounding space.

The winners were selected from among the most junior accommodation facility and restaurant employees, managers, chefs, designers, and sales directors.

“In five to six months, all the hotels and accommodation facilities in our country were studied”, says the department head of the Tourism Committee, a member of the jury Mukhayyo Khaitova. “When determining the winners, attention was paid to such important aspects as the services provided to clients, the degree of compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards, and the conditions created. Such events certainly motivate other accommodation facilities to strive for better results. This increases the tourist attractiveness of our country and the quality of hotel services”.

It should be noted that the National Hospitality Award of Uzbekistan is the first major project and a new award in the hotel business, awarded annually to the best accommodation facilities in various categories.

The project will serve as an incentive to increase the country’s tourist attractiveness, the quality of hospitality services, the competitiveness of accommodation facilities in the domestic and foreign markets, and the positive image of Uzbekistan in the international tourism market.
