Samarkand widely celebrates the 686th anniversary of Sahibkiran Amir Temur’s birth.

Today, in the early morning, representatives of the regional and city hokimiyats visited the mausoleum of Amir Temur in Samarkand, honored the memory of the great commander, and read a surah from the Quran.

 “Amir Temur is the spiritual leader, the pride of our people”, says the Hokim of the region E. Turdimov. – We are all proud of our ancestor, but not everyone deeply understands his merits as a great statesman. Therefore, we must tell our youth more about Amir Temur, the founder of a great empire, who made a huge contribution to the prosperity of the country, the development of science, the creator of the foundation of the Second Renaissance, and raise awareness of young people about his glorious life path.

Flowers were laid at the monument to Amir Temur from the Regional Hokimiyat and the public, the Central Military District, law enforcement agencies, various agencies and organizations, and educational institutions.

Higher education institutions, museums and other organizations in the region hold cultural and educational events dedicated to Amir Temur’s birth.
