At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan on June 5-6.

In accordance with the program of the visit of the distinguished guest, the main events will be held in the city of Samarkand.

During the upcoming talks at the highest level, issues of further developing multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar will be considered. Continuation of active political contacts, cultural and humanitarian exchange, and the implementation of large investment projects in the energy, gas, chemical industry, agriculture, infrastructure, logistics, tourism, and other sectors will be considered.

The heads of state will also discuss current issues of international politics and the regional agenda.

Following the meeting, a solid package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents is expected to be signed.

It should be noted that the visit of the Amir of the State of Qatar to Uzbekistan will be the first in more than 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two states.
